Veterinary Physiotherapy

Veterinary physiotherapy helps manage injuries, improve mobility, and optimise performance. Whether it's supporting a competitive horse or a happy hacker with a musculoskeletal issue, or aiding a cow recovering from lameness, targeted treatments can enhance movement, reduce pain, and promote long-term health. And keeping your animals sound and comfortable is essential!

What to Expect

Each session will be tailored to suit the individual presented but sessions will typically cover the following:

  1. Discussion – A detailed conversation about your horse's medical history, health, performance, and any existing injuries or performance issues. Changes in behaviour or ridden performance are important to address for a comprehensive understanding before treatment.

  2. Assessment – A walk and trot assessment will be conducted to evaluate movement and detect lameness. This is followed by a hands-on musculoskeletal evaluation from head to hoof, including a focus on joints, muscles, and spinal health.

  3. Treatment – Physiotherapy treatments will be tailored to the findings from the assessment and any existing conditions, using manual therapies and electrotherapy options such as Laser, PEMF, Ultrasound, and TENS when appropriate.

  4. Home exercise plan - Home therapeutic exercises will be prescribed.

  5. Report - A report detailing the session will be emailed to you. This can also be sent to other members of the multidisciplinary team, if your animal is under veterinary care then it will be sent to their vet to ensure a team approach to rehabilitation.
